Melbourne Utd Eagles are a very strong team and play a fast paced game. The game was end to end and in total sixteen goals scored. The first half ended five apiece and felt like it was over in minutes. Archie Critchlow was fantastic in goal making some great saves, he was put to work today and managed to keep a lot of balls out. Archie is quick to release the ball to our defenders, one of those being Jack Jennings who formed a brick wall defence today, he held up play long enough for the team to get back into a defensive position, tough work! Shia Grocott played out from the back with some fleeting runs playing some great one two football with our forwards, he is always looking to push forward and pass the ball at every opportunity, nearly finding the net. Lytton Pegg came back and played a deep forward position which helped keep the score sheet in our favour and he assisted in a few of the goals playing some clinical passes. Thomas Weston is getting stronger each week taking on some big defenders without thinking about it, he did not stop taking the ball forward which paid off with a couple of goals, one of those was a rebound from Shia’s sharp shot, just hitting the woodwork. Alfie Wood played some great passing football, finding the net three times in the first half, the second half Alfie put away another four and one of those came from a halfway line foul on Lytton, where Alfie smashed the ball in top bins. Today was a very entertaining, skilful game of football and a joy to watch. Steve Egan has created a top quality team!!!
Come on the LEOPARDS!!!
